One Community Fiesta 2014

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association Singapore (UPAAS) participated today in One Community Fiesta 2014, organized by People’s Association which aims to foster friendship among locals and immigrants. UPAAS was privileged to be invited to this nationwide event.

UPAAS in return showcased the best of what the Philippines has to offer, from beautiful destinations, stylish Filipiniana dresses, traditional games, and colorful festival ornaments. It was our way to better interact with the Singapore locals and integrate with the community. All visitors to our booth were treated as well with some tasty children snacks . Around 4,000 people from different GRCs attended the event. The Guest-of-Honour, Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Minister for National Development, together with some GRC leaders visited our colorful booth. Some of our members also participated in the community ukulele performance.

We thank the Philippine Embassy for all their support to UPAAS for this event. Special thanks to our beloved Ambassador Antonio Morales for visiting our booth as well. Maraming salamat po and mabuhay!
